Lucius Verus
Modern fake, fantasy coin

Fantasy coin, not wishing, in my opinion, to deceive collectors but simply to serve as curiosity. Indeed, if the obverse is known, the association with this reverse does not seem to exist. The general style, the centering of the striking, perfect, the bad quality metal ... all this makes me join the conclusions of Dr. Ilya Prokopov who evaluates this coin as "fantasy coin". He has already referenced this currency here: https://www.forumancientcoins.com/fakes/displayimage.php?album=42&pos=1179. For my part, it seems to me that the style evokes that of a Paduan. The illustration comes from a coin in the Dane Kurth collection. I saw a copy with IR P VI and not VIII, without I can conclude to a wear or a desire to change the number, because this coin is too much deteriorated.
