Denarius, type 3 (CARLVS REX FR and monogram Carolus)
CARLVS REX FR (circular legend around a cross surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between FR and CARLVS).
AGIN CIVITAS (circular legend around the Carolus monogram (1) surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between the letters O and A).
Photo of the copy preserved at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (public domain), link to the page of their website showing the photo of the coin: https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b10442482d.r=charlemagne%20denier?rk=1072966;4.
Monograms Carolus:
(1) All letters inscribed normally.
(2) The letters K and R inscribed normally; the letter S reversed and the letter L inscribed normally.
Among all the coins I have observed, it is the only one with the obverse showing the monogram instead of a cross and the legend AGIN CIVITAS.
