This is most likely the copy illustrated in the old works.
Monograms Karolus:
(1) K in the shape of an inclined T with a triangle above and below. R, S and L inscribed normally.
(2) K inscribed normally. R in the shape of an , L with curved end, S retrograde.
This coin, with the legend of which says ''new metal'' or ''new coin'', is most likely struck at Melle's mint. Some experts think that this coin came from a recasting of coins from the first period, in this mint, to create the new denarius.
