(1) Without letter A in the diamond on the middle.

(2) With the letter A inscribed at the top in the diamond on the middle.

(3) With the letter A inscribed on the left in the diamond on the middle.

Warning! All the denarii of type 3 for this mint, can belong to Charlemagne as to Charles II The Bald. Certain coins were more clearly attributed to Charles II The Bald because of their place of discovery, among other things. This is the case for coins with the legend CARLVS REX with a monogram with the letter L retrograde and the letter S at the bottom. Studies conducted by Guillaume Sarah among others, show that this coinage which I classify in type 3, lasted until the end of the reign of Charles II The Blad. It is therefore almost impossible to determine whether these coins are for Charlemagne or Charles II The Bald. I will therefore classify them for the two Kings and put this same comment for each of the coins that are impossible to dissociate.
