Denarius, type 1, var 1 (monogram Karolus)
CARLVS REX FR (circular legend around the Karolus monogram (2) surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between FR and CARLVS).
QVANTOVVIC (circular legend around a cross surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between the letters C and Q).
Photo of the copy preserved at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (public domain), link to the page of their website showing the photo of the coin: https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b10412622r/f2.item. This coin has a dot in the diamond of the monogram, this may be a defect of the coin and not something present at the origin. In doubt, i choosed to note it as a real point
Monograms Karolus:
(1) Without letter A in the diamond on the middle.
(2) With a dot in the diamond on the middle.
(3) With letter A inscribed at the top in the diamond on the middle.
An old work gives a similar coin but the legend QVANTOVVICO, error or other coin?
