Denarius, type 2, var 2 (CARLVS REX FR . TARVIS)
CARLVS REX FR (circular legend with letter S retrograde, around a cross surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between FR and CARLVS).
TARVIS (circular legend around the Karolus monogram (1) surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between the letters S and T).
Coin sold by Numismatica Genevensis SA, link to the sale: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=6500813.
Monogram Karolus:
(1) With the letter A inscribed at the top in the diamond on the middle.
This type, as well as all of its variants, shows a reverse with the legend beginning at 6 a.m., if we put the monogram in the right direction. The letter C on the obverse were probably forgotten during the engraving, then added. Indeed, I observe that it is very small and located in the space remaining between the cross and the letter A.
