I quote Jean Elsen & ses Fils S.A. which perfectly explains the attribution of the mint for this coin: ''L'attribution est fondée sur la découverte de 23 deniers de ce type à Dorestad en 1972 (M.E.C. I, p. 634). De plus, la francisque représentée au revers est caractéristique des deniers de Charlemagne frappés à Dorestad, Saint-Bavon et Condé-sur-l'Escaut. 0
Trouvé en 1969 dans les travaux de l'Europoort de Rozenburg (Pays-Bas). Provient de J. Schulman, vente 263, 27-29 avril 1976, 490.''. Traduction: ''The attribution is based on the discovery of 23 denarii of this type in Dorestad in 1972 (M.E.C. I, p. 634).
